Hey everybody!
So, true to reputation, OgreWare entirely failed to take a vacation during the first week of their vacation, and has been, instead, working on CAH. More Ogre updates next week when the Ogre collapses from exhaustion and root-beer-induced dehydration, but for now, an update on the actual Calling All Heroes game additions this week.
First off, the Treasure Chest System is up and running – meaning that Treasure Missions no longer give out gold, and instead yield Treasure Chests and Treasure Keys. Each mission will have one Treasure Chest as the main reward, and one Treasure Key as the bonus reward. There are three types of Treasure Chests and three types of Keys, and you have to match the Key to the Chest in order to open it.
If you have any Treasure Chests, a new button will appear on the bottom of the main screen, to take you to the Treasure Vault. There, you’ll see a picture of any Treasure Chest you have; if there are more than one, there are small representations of each on either side to scroll through them. At the bottom of the Vault screen, there is a listing of the three types of keys, and the one that matches the currently-viewed Chest will be lit up.
You can open a Treasure Chest by tapping it…a lot…and we mean a LOT – or you can use one of the Treasure Keys that matches it.
Inside, there are some pretty awesome rewards. You can get pretty significant amounts of Gold, Materials, Runestones, or – and this part I find pretty funny – another Treasure Chest, or a Key. (Have you ever had a dad or uncle who wraps a gift card in 15 boxes of increasing size? Yeah, so did I. Reminds me of that box-within-a-box thing…)
In addition to the Treasure Chest system, there have been some changes to the Oracle system. First off, you now get a dialog box telling you exactly what buff you got from watching an ad; also, if you watch 5 ads in one calendar day, you’ll automatically receive a small Treasure Chest. If you watch 10 more AFTER that (total 15 in a calendar day), you’ll also get a small Treasure Key. Pretty awesome, huh?
Well, that’s about all we’ve got for this week. If you’d like to try out Calling All Heroes today, click here to play in this browser or click here to download the Android .apk file for your Android device.
