Hello everyone! Here’s what we at OgreWare have been up to this week:
We now have a new enemy in the game! Meet the Jackalope.

The Jackalope is a low-level beastie from the first zone outside town, so you’ll probably see a lot of them over the course of playthrough. Jackalopes are melee combatants with a range of attacks, from bites, to kicks, to attacking with their horns. We had a good time with the animations…
I modeled and rigged this guy myself – I actually did that part some time ago; this week’s work was some tweaks to that work, then animation and texturing. All in all, we’re pretty pleased with how he came out.
Merrix was mired in the unending, unenviable task of re-importing all my art assets and re-setting up all the materials. These tasks result from our decision to change our color palette some weeks ago. Changing the palette seems still meaningful and worth it, but the amount of extra work it created for Merrix is another story. We’re hoping that, with a little more learning, I might be able to take on more of the import work, so this (hopefully) wouldn’t happen again; so I’ll be learning some more Godot Engine skills soon. Wish me luck!
